I've been through the brake pad sampling routine and have recently put Mintex c-tech pads on my M3. (will wear out pads a little more before using on M5) I am truly impressed. My main concern was high performance, track, autocross, and have found them to have tremendous heat resistance, (no fade yet), and great performance. And a bonus, very little dust!! I have the 1155 series, not the 1144 c-tech.

Since I don't have a 5 series, I can't relate to your braking issues, but I do carry AXXIS Metal Masters on my ride and they work very well, little dust as well. Oh yeah, the ride is a 1988 750il.
