The only vehicles that can be personally imported into canada LEGALLY now are 1985 and older cars.
Unless it is manufactured for Canada. I got that from the head of Canada's Customs Office and their version of DOT. Yes you can import cars into the US pretty easily but it is a turkey shoot as to the prices of the conversion cost and then the EPA Certification prices also.

I have brought in 3 euros for my own personal collection, and assisted a few friends with importing for personal use.
