525i 92, Auto Transmission Problem, Question (archive)

I just sold my car to my close Aunt. The rug has a tendency to push up against the accelerator and cause the engine to stay at a high RPM. She couldn't figure it out and tried putting the car in gear when at high rev. Now there is a Transmission Error showing on OBC. Any ideas on how much trouble is involved here? Seeing mechanic on Monday.
