are very equal weight wise. The E39 has more torque though. I would say from the numbers, the performance is extremely close.

in many ways. The performance of the 2 seem very similar to me. I'd stick with the E39, the ///M cars can be alot more to mantain in the long haul.

I own a E39 540i but I have always wanted an E34 M5, if anyone has done this I would appreciate any feedback, my only concern is that the E39 is 82% stiffer than the E34,

How are cars equal when the E3 has about 30 more HP? Weight about equal right?
