La Jolla Independent in La Jolla of course (858-488-1555). I took my e30 m3 there for pre-purchase inspection. M (and 2002) experts. Make sure you get a compression AND leakdown test on the engine as a rebuild is way expensive. At 140k you are probably getting close to a timing chain replacement too. Mesa Performance sold me a counterfeit Conforti chip 3 years ago so I don't do any business with them anymore. Good luck.JPL

black and tan
I am about to buy a 1991 with 140K. Could anyone recommend a specialist in San Diego who could check it out for me?
Also, I would appreciate any advice about what to ask the seller and watch out for.
Thanks in advance.
