Blew my engine!!! (archive)

I was wondering if any of you knew the Mechanical limit of the engine as far as how high can the engine rev before overrevving (ie. E36 M3 = 7600rpm if im not mistaken) The reason I ask is I was wanting to order a custom chip and wanted to set the limiter as high as I could leaving a couple hundred rpm till the overrev. Thanx in advance, and sorry if this post doesn't make much sense.
