rattle under tranny area (archive)

I have a rattle under the tranny area, which sounds somewhat like a heat shield against a downpipe or similar. However, today I noticed that is goes away when you depress the clutch fully. This means a throwout bearing no? Also have heat shield type sounding rattle over bumps from right rear. Any thoughts on these before checking out? Thanks.
