Cooling exhausts will make sounds like that. More like click-click (tick-tick?) to me. Not trying to nit-pick, just making sure you have the same sound.

In any case, I cannot think of an exhaust fault that could be bad for the car as such. At worst you'll have either hung it wrong on the hangers or bottomed it out on the body, both of which will cause uncomfortable acoustic resonances in the cabin, but nothing worse.

I have had my M5 a little over a month now and the exhuast has started to make a tap tap sound after the car has been driven a distance. I notice the sound once the car is parked. I realize this is proabably just it cooling down but I want to make sure. Any advice would be appreciative.
