Is it possible the pump has partially siezed from running dry? My 89 iC ran dry one time and it siezed eventually making a tremendous squealing noise. I had to replace the pump even though it still rotated and provided assist when fluid was added. The internal were just distorted and rubbing together due to the heat from the dry running.

Just replaced the lines going to the power steering pump. At some point the pump was turning with no fluid in it. Now with the new lines, the pump starts to get extremely hot. WE had some hoses made using the original ends and all restrctors were re installed in the lines.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
