its not loud and rattly, it just sounds like its got the AC on... but its a little louder than the AC compressor.... its actually quietened down since i've had the car...(3 weeks)

Sounds like the air pump. Mine is pretty quiet, but I've heard a car with the pump bearings on the way out and it was really loud and rattly.

Currently, my air pump is on my workbench awaiting cleaning!

Whenever I start the car from cold, I hear this weird whining sound, after a few minutes it stops... Is this the air compressor that pressurizes the cooling system (my car has the air valve on the expansion tank) or is this something I need to get checked out? Thanx in advance
