Bought-new 1997 850GLT Volvo wagon with 45k has had:
Battery dead at 2-years.
Alternator failure (fried).
Transmission computer failure.
Smog air pump failure.
Air conditioning leak.
Switch for info center malfunction (temp, mpg, etc.)
Random lights flashing on climate controls. (?)
Brake pads changed (for $500!!! no rotors).
Rear tailgate inside cover popped off (needs tailgate cover repair kit).
Brakes squeal.
Rear seatback squeaks.
Front end grauching noises.
Other stuff I forgot...1991 M5 with 90k miles:
Replace original battery.
Replace AFM duct rubber hose.
Replace battery in key.
Recall on radiator cap and locking clip in steering column.
Waiting for self-leveling to die...
Amazing but true. Normal maintainance performed at Volvo dealer with good rep. We are dumping the Volvo; it is out of warrantee and I am afraid! Maybe a nice simple 750iL :)
