I recently switched the driver and passenger seats, so I am fairly confident when I say that no, you can't add arm rests to M5 seats. I am sure that you could trade seats with someone on the E34 board.

For what it's worth, I agree with John. The cockpit of my beast can get pretty busy at times and I don't need any armrests getting in the way.
