I bought an 91M5 which has a shift kit installed and its way too high effort, im removing it. On the other hand, have a uuc in an A6 and its not very high effort at all. These vary greatly and by trans. Im not sure about the stress on synchros as its all about how you shift and feel your way around with or without a kit.
