my question is, if i replace both catalytic converters, will i still have a problem passing emissions / smog in CA. im tthinking of importing a car from europe, ( i'm aware of how difficult it is) , and since they have to replace everything to US standards including a 2 new cats, shouldnt it pass emmissions / smog testing in CA ? is there something im missing ? anyone have experience with that, a few people have been telling me its impossible, and that there are only 2 registered 3.8L's in California, and their not sure how they got registered. is this true ? any advice will help , thanks in advance.

This company sold one to California.
