I currently have a Racing Dynamics exhaust. I bought the complete system (cat-back with resonator) for $600 US. You should not experience a loss in power with most exhaust systems, Supersprint, B@B Tri-Flo, Remus, Borla, etc, however you will experience quite a db increase. $2500 is alot of $ to pay for an exhaust. My suggestion is to search a few of the M5 boards and get different opinions on aftermarket exhaust.

I saw a posting the other day on http://www.bmwm5.com/ Go to MessageBoard and click E34 M5. Once your there, search under "exhaust" One of the threads has 5 or 6 exhaust sounds you can listen to.

If you would like to call Racing Dynamics and inquire about their exhaust, the number in California is (714) 540-5100, ask for Mark.

Hope this helps

I have just been told after my last service from a BMW authorized dealer that my muffler is nearly rusted through and I will have to buy the whole system. In Australia this costs around $2500.Has anyone fitted an after market muffler such as Remus or such and if so have they experienced a loss in power..Thanks
