Reliability is a statistic. It is inaccurate to gauge it with either only one car or a biased sample. A sampling of N=30 M5 cars will not support your claim of low cost.
I know for a fact that my M5 needs stuff from just being the heavy that a lot of other cars don't need - bushings and ball joints being just two of them.

I see so many people within this forum putting down the E34 for it's maintenance cost, reliability, etc. I'm here to tell you, My 91 M5 is the most reliable, awesome automobile that I have ever owned. I have had way to many cars to mention, but this M5 is by far, one of the best out there.
