There are three connectors there:
1. Air pump clutch signal - not really a sensor.
2. Crank position sensor.
3. Impulse generator for sequential injection.

Does anybody know what the sensors mounted at the front cam sprocket cover are for? They are the ones covered by the plastic cover and are mounted adjacent to the distributor cap.
'91 M5, 3.6
(I have a great story to tell, but not until the above question is answered.)

That I am aware there are connectors under the cover.
1) Crank position sensor.
2) Spark sensor(pulse generator).
