Canadian cars are constantly being sent into the U.S. Most of the examples that I have heard of are North American SUVs. In this case, it is a foreign vehicle. So, you will likely have to pay a duty. In addition, you will want to work through a customs broker to ensure that you obtain clear title of the car. On the weekend, there was an interview with a customs broker on 'American Dream Car', a show in Speed Vison. Again, the major hurtles are a small import duty and likely some sort of emissions test for licensing purposes. Here in Ontario, we have strict emissions test. My car was tested after the new engine was installed and the engine passed with flying colours. In fact, my mechanic uses the emissions test to judge the efficiency of the engine. And, he indicated to me that the engine was perfect. So, there should be no emission problems. One issue you will want to address is that my speedometer is in kilometers. While the onboard computer will display imperial measures as well as metric.
Take care.
Rick
P.S. Again, I think what I will do is wait until the spring and then sell the car at the Classic Car Auction in Toronto.
