yah Will knows a few things or two ! and your right about $10,000 it was about $7000 for dot and epa and about another $3000 for broker fees and some other taxes of some sort bring it to about $10,000. the key, i am told, is to get a good RI (registered importer) who has done this before. iv heard some horror stories about cars sitting up to a year just waiting. when you figure it out you really dont save that much consdering the time and efforts of cordinating everything. although it is nice to have a euro model ! but they are around in the states just got to find them. just bought a 91 3.8L 340hp dark grey exterior black interior 62,000 miles very clean. only 120 reported 91 3.8L's as far as i know, if any one knows of other figures let me know, i never new they made 91 3.8L's before finding this car and doing a little research.

i looked into importing a car from europe to CA, very difficult and almost imposible(cause of CA emmissions/smog) but it is possible in other states just take $ and time. from europe to the states was about 4-6 months if you have a good RI registered importer if not can take up to a year. also the cost was about $7,000 for dot and epa. not sure about cananda but i think its similiar, email this guy and he should be able to answer any questions . lives in ontario and imports eurpean m5's on the side, great guy and very informative. i would have baught an m5 with him , but CA restitrictions have made it almost impossible. his name is Will Zaraska -
