Other than giving your engine a slightly throatier growl, and a slightly more sensitive throttle, K&N has done little for me... Maybe if you replaced the air box with a K&N air header with heat shield, it may suck in more air to your engine, but also carry in more dirt as well, since the filter is exposed...

I like K&N because theyre reusable, you just clean and re-oil them... As for delivering any sort of performance advantage for $40, if this were true, manufacturers would be more than glad to install them from the factory..


Whats the general consensus about the efficiency of K&N air filters, as far as their ability to filter out dirt particles properly. I have read that due to their increased air flow they permit more dirt into the motor and can seriously impact long term reliability. I'm curious as to what you guys think.
