Good, cause I'd like to put at least 15k a year on mine. So you speak of transmission gremlins(I was hoping to get away from those with the manual transmisson). What exactly are you experiencing, and how severe is it? I've read about other people experiencing problems with 2nd gear. Is that something that can just be rebuilt, or do you have to replace the whole trans.?

from 81k to 147k and maintenance at or about what you have paid for your 735i. I have a few transmission gremlins starting to show up but nothing catastrophic yet. Those miles also include 20+ days on the track. The only "failure" was the A/C at 100k. I have replaced other parts as part of preventive maintenance.

Hey enthusiasts, I currently own a 1988 735i, and spend about $2500 a year in maintenance. This year I spent $4000(new trans and new headgasket and other stuff). I'm wondering how similar in maintenace costs the M5(1994) will be. And I also wanted to know how many of you current M5 owners use them as daily drivers. I plan on buying one within the next month or so, and was wondering if they make better weekend cars than daily drivers.

Thanks in advance,
Mr. H.
