Yes Yes Yes a great daily driver.

I spent about $4000 at 100,000 miles, clutch, wasnt worn out but I did it anyways, water pump, belts, hoses, seals all around, brake rotors, tires, and a host of other items which were getting a little thin around the edges. I have had my 91 since 1994 and I still love this car allot. Next year I was thinking of selling and getting a 1999 740i Sport but on second thought I will keep it and slap on some M Parallels. I have gone through a few other Bimmers but the M5 remains year after year. I do park it from around December to March and drive my wagon but other than that my M5 is a daily driver and I put on around 30 miles per day. It has been very reliable. My TRanny crunched into 2nd gear when I switched to a synthetic but I went back to the factory stuff and no more crunching.

Hey enthusiasts, I currently own a 1988 735i, and spend about $2500 a year in maintenance. This year I spent $4000(new trans and new headgasket and other stuff). I'm wondering how similar in maintenace costs the M5(1994) will be. And I also wanted to know how many of you current M5 owners use them as daily drivers. I plan on buying one within the next month or so, and was wondering if they make better weekend cars than daily drivers.

Thanks in advance,
Mr. H.
