Bob:

I've only had the E34 one year so unfortunately not that much experience with fluids, etc., for which you have to own the car through a few change intervals. Most of my information comes from being forced into a top-end rebuild within a month of owning the car.

However, one of my friends with the 3.91 rear-end did comment on how much quicker his car was off the line than mine (1992=3.73). At first thought he felt it might be because his was chipped (Dinan) and mine was not, but later put it down to the chip. I have not run a comparison personally, but it does seem a bit of an expensive upgrade to me.

I do have the positively reviewed D'Sylva chip, but have not tried it out yet as I'd like to sort a few more things (tires, bushings, alignment) out before I do the swap and back-to-back testing.

Thanks Neal,
I will stick with the ATF. Any suggestions on increasing midrange torque? I have thought about a Dinan cam gear and/or replacing the 93 rear-end with one from a 91. I installed a Fahey cam gear in a M635 that seemed to help a bit but it retarded the exhaust cam timeing slightly while the Dinan advances it. I know you have allot of experience with the cars and was hoping you could offer some hints.
