Euro M5 purchase questions (archive)

I am currently looking to purchase a M5 Euro that is here in the US but have some concerns after looking at the car.
Should a federalized M5 still have the european speedometer or a US MPH instead?

When a car is federalized properly, is there paperwork that should come with the car that I should ask the current Owner for?

The car seems to be registered and inspected, is that possible if the car was not federalized properly?

Will this car be considered a "Grey Market" car? Will BMW dealers work on the car?
