Isn't the 95 the M62/4.4L? There is a big difference between the cars as the suspension and engine are totally different in character. The M5 engine has more top-end and builds power with RPM. The 540i has more low-end, but peaks. Drive both. The 540i will be cheaper to maintain.

Is there a big difference between driving a 91-93 M5 (315hp) and the 95 540i6 (282hp). I'm more concerned with street driving and speeds less than 100 mph.
