just got a 91M5 with undeterminable brand of short shifter. I loved using a UUC shifter in a 535, but this one requires lots of effort to change gears - which makes it impossible for me to shift gears fast.

1) is there an easy way to identify the shifter?
2) is there any adjustments that can help reduce notchiness? (trans currently has MTL). has anyone tried using ATF?
3) anyone have a brand they are fully satisfied with?

TIA,
mike wong
