Are you kidding the throw on a stock 91 M5 is like shifting a Bus, terrible long inprecise throws. I put on in from BMP and it is a HUGE improvement over stock. If you install the right one then they work perfect, I can shift nicely in the city and powershift seamlessly. BTW my gearbox crunched into 2nd gear when using a synthetic gear oil but went back to the BMW ATF stuff all was good. The synthetic stuff was not Redline though, I will try that later as I hear wonderful things about that stuff.

this is the reason why i dont like short shift kits.the problem is that the time needed to shift gears with the stock shifter is proportioned just right to the time needed for the syncros in the trans to line up so when you have a short shift kit you can shift it faster but the trans wont let it go into gear.i have heard this complaint on many ///M cars.i would recommend changing it back to stock.
