The belts look ok and there are no noticeable problems. Will a new set of belts give me a better feel when driving? While my mechanic is in there should anything (parts) else be replaced?

It will not help the driving but you may not be able to check the belts out until you take them off and roll them inside out. The water pump and thermostat, if they has not been replaced should be at you milage. There are two expensive special radiator hose on that car and you should have the system presure teseted for any leaks. The radiators are bad about leaking around the crimps. Hope this helps.
