NEED VIN Sticker Help for drivers door pillar (archive)

I just had my car completly repainted. we taped over the VIN Sticker in the door jamb so it wouldn't get painted over but when the tape got removed so did the sticker and we lost it. So it's time to insure it and the insurance company says that gonna be a problem. even if its not gonna be a problem with insurance, I still want my original VIN sticker. What do I do?? Can I get a Replacement from BMW?? I know if I go to sell it , thats gonna look bad and suspicious. I dont want my car to look like its a POS. Please help me guys. email me with suggestions
