Building a 3.8L stroker engine (archive)

I am looking for some experience in building a 3.8L. I have a ported head, and a block (not yet bored), have a RD billit crank and rod set. I will need all other parts. I found 280 schrick cams for $750 each (stock are $1050). Not sure what pistons/ring set to use? Any advice is welcome.
