Jeff,

The stock E34 M5 single piece forged M-Technic II wheel can have three different appearances.

1. Naked: Where you see the five black spokes.

2. Turbine cover: Standard 'til '93 model arrived, it’s unidirectional and reportedly will help keep the brakes cooler.

3. Throwing Star cover: A redesigned cover to give a more recognizable open mag wheel look.
