I spoke with Jim Rowe metric mech, and he bores the intake manifold to match the size of the throttle body. I guess the intake port is smaller than the throttle body (very shortly I will be replacing the gaskets between them because one blew out and the car is running a little ruff)so I will mic everything and find out myself.

Does anyone know the technical results of porting or boring? Logically, I would think a polished surface would allow smoother air flow, however, ruff airflow allows for turbulance, thus better mixture and misting of fule. The smoother the surface, the higher the octane, otherwise pre-detonation will occur?

Another question, what about boring out both throttle body and intake port? I know Dinan sells bored throttle bodies for the big six engine, not sure if the do the s-38 or s-38 b36.
