Lloyd,

I have an M5 and my wife has a 2000 323iT. The 323iT is a nicer car as far as comfort but I miss my M5 if I don't drive it for one day. Even these many years later, the 5er has more of an exotic feel. It will cost you more to drive but it is worth the expense. Just another 3 series or a truly rare car that despite its capabilities can be driven everyday (22k mile a year for me)? Easy answer. Get the //M car.

When you test drive one, wait for the oil temp to start to climb then downshift in second or third so that the motor is hovering at 4500rpm, then punch it. 328? What is a 328?

Hey guys, I've been looking for an E46 328 for some time and totally love the cars. However, just today I stumbled across a low mileage E34 (91-93) M5 and my resolve is definitely shot. I'm caught between wanting a slick, newer sedan and the devilish temptation only BMW M can offer. My instinct says the M will be the better car to drive and enjoy, not to mention hold its value. However, the 328 is a newer car, with greater safety innovations and perhaps better reliability/technology. I need some honest opinions from real owners, what do y'all think?
Thanks in Advance!
-Lloyd
