M5 vs M3 Saloon Performance?? (archive)

I just sold my Sport Evolution and need a 4 door car. It looks likely to be either an M5 3.8 or M3 3.2.

I am looking for performance figures for both cars but have been unable to find much meaningful information.

a direct comparison between the two would be handy.

Any thoughts? Links?
