I read you loud and clear on the revs. If you want to talk about the need for revs let me take you a spin in my 91 E30 M3. I agree with you that there is no substitute for cubic inches (liters) for low end torque, but I think I would be satisfied with 25% or so more high end HP and torque. This should be achievable with a SOTA SC. I want to stay away from a turbo for these same reasons, even though I love my 745i. With the 7 you can stand some low end loss and lag, not so with the 3 or the 5.
