BMW did not offer a 540i in a manual transmission for 1994, only automatic. If you're talking about the 540i with an automatic, $15k-$18k sounds about right, I have not seen a 6 speed for that price unless it's a rough higher mileage model.. And the 540i M-Sport will run much higher than the 6-speed versions because they are very rare..
The 540i M-Sport is exactly like an E34 M5(suspension, front/rear spoilers and air dams, M5 brakes, throwing star wheels, M-mirrors, M-steering wheel) but only with the 540i V8 engine, only 135 were made with the 6-speed and 65 or so with automatic.. These car run a very high premium, in fact the cheapest I ever seen it advertised is in the mid $20k's
Don't be fooled by a 540i 6-speed and 540i M-Sport, they're 2 different cars..
