I do apologize if I offened anyone - but I am in the wholesale business on the east coast - I run cars through the "high end" auctions and read the reports from the ones I don't get to attend - I speak from experiene - when I first started I got burned bad - then I learned - fanatics who pay top dollar are out there but very very rare - If you really work at a dealership you know the real truth about how you price your trades - would you like me to quote the good condition "black book" price to him? I was tring to be reasonable - let him bring the car to your dealership - I can tell you what you would give him within a few hundred dollars - and it makes me sick - but its how the game is played - AND EBAY!!!! It is the biggest joke of all - the reason most of those high end cars are on ebay is crooked dealers and my crooked collegues trying to snag the big one - just fishing - hoping to find an idiot to pay many thousands more than what he did - most of those cars never sell - I am personally responsible for filing many complaints which has resulted in many suspened EBAY accounts due to people who lie about selling cars at no reserve then try to pull the auction and/or relist the car. I hate to see anybody get ripped off on either side of a deal - point in case - I got called about a 92 M5 euro (grey market) 170,000 miles - I was scared to pay $12,500 - I turned it down - I felt sorry for the guy but he could NOT sell the car!! --- Where were all the enthusiast??? nobody was beating his door down to buy it-- again there are hundreds of people out there looking to sell for a mint especially M cars -- the ones that do sell - usually do it for a reasonable price - Again when you come across the person willing to pay "enthusiast" prices jump on them with both feet. I love 'em but they are still just cars.
