Buying a 170k-mile E34 M5 is a big risk. Even though I could probably rebuild the engine in my garage, I would not pay $12.5k for an unknown car with that mileage. That result does not surprise me. A looming engine rebuild will near-total that car.
So, where do you list your cars? I'm unlikely to buy at an auction, despite possibly being able to wangle my way into one, but my SO is in the market for a car.

I hate to see anybody get ripped off on either side of a deal - point in case - I got called about a 92 M5 euro (grey market) 170,000 miles - I was scared to pay $12,500 - I turned it down - I felt sorry for the guy but he could NOT sell the car!! --- Where were all the enthusiast??? nobody was beating his door down to buy it-- again there are hundreds of people out there looking to sell for a mint especially M cars -- the ones that do sell - usually do it for a reasonable price - Again when you come across the person willing to pay "enthusiast" prices jump on them with both feet. I love 'em but they are still just cars.
