my baby is sick!... i was pulling out of my garage and put it into park to warm it up. all of the sudden i hear a clacking sound. next thing i know the car is being towed to my mechanic. he started the car up and there was the clacking sound. he then began the diagnosis. all of the sudden, the clacking stopped. he called us up and says that the car is possess! after further testing, he said one of the cylinders are dead. :*(

the car will drive, but it's weak. so we parked the car in a garage (has been parked for about a month now). after talking with a bmw specialty shop, they said that a 6 series car had the same problem and they did a valve adjustment and it fixed the problem. Does this sound right? should i try this? how much is a new engine? anybody know where i can get good prices for an engine or if anyone can rebuild my engine?

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanx.

** just a side note, we needed another car so we bought a '91 850. any thought on the 8's?
