1991 is most common, this is the year most US spec M5's were sold. My personal experience in purchasing one this January, take your time. Visit BMWCCA web site and the classifieds on this site regularly. I personally did not like e-bay or autotrader, etc. Make sure to have a BMW tech that knows E34 M5's check the car before you pay. The engine alone in these cars is 15k easy, you do not want to get stuck with a bad car.Be ready to act quickly if you find the right car, I had 2 sold out from under me, it worked out though, I bought my car with 48k miles. Be ready to travel to see it, most cars end up several states away. Once you do find a car, be thorough, I got so excited, I forgot to check several items, make yourself a list.
