Reducing compression with a thick head gasket is the wrong way to go. You will loose quench in the chamber. Also cam timing will be off. Speaking of cam timing, the overlap should be reduced to accomodate the intake pressure. Install a pair of S14 adjustable cam sprockets and experiment.
