using a thicker head gasket degrades the combustion chamber efficency. From the big boost gruppee, these thicker gaskets have had a hit and miss problems. Some work, some don't. The guys that use them for head room have good success. The guys that use them for more power have less success. Plus, the thicker head gasket is more prone to cracks and leaks, even the copper ones.

Reducing compression with a thick head gasket is the wrong way to go. You will loose quench in the chamber. Also cam timing will be off. Speaking of cam timing, the overlap should be reduced to accomodate the intake pressure. Install a pair of S14 adjustable cam sprockets and experiment.
