I contacted a BMW parts company that sells OEM equipment and they show two versions of the throwing star rims: Forged and polished lip. Anyone know the diff?

'91 M3 that needs some lightweight forged 17" wheels...

check out that link and go to the registry. Go to pictures of Ken Little's E34 and he has polished lips (custom job). They look great.
