As you've probably already seen on another message board, there may be issues with replacing an M60 with an M62. There have been rampant rumors about how some early M60 540s had their engines replaced with M62s due to a shortage of alusil blocks. I have yet to hear from anyone who has firthand knowledge that his has actually happened.

However, to answer your initial question, the 4.4l should fit into th ebay physically. I don't have any definitive answer to the more important question of whether it would actually run when installed.


Would the 4.4L M62 fit into the 530i/540i engine bay?
