one guy warned me, "M5 means the part cost is multiplied by 5". Well, M5 specific parts do cost more, but not 5 times. For example, the water pump can retail $160+, but can be found for $118; still more expensive than the 535 pump....

You are buying parts designed for higher performance, e.g. rotors. As long as you find an M5 without engine/driveline problems, you should be OK.
