The switch they replaced was the one on the dash. The wiring problem was related to one of the wires going to the shocks.

I had the same issue with my 1995 540i Sport after I had bought the car. It was always on Sport/firm and the light on the EDC went out. I took it in to a BMW shop and they used a computer for the diagnosis.

Issue turned out to be a wiring problem... loose connection and they also replaced the switch.

I to have the exact same problem with mine. The check control says EDC not active. I have a 540 Sport and have noticed the same thing, the relay and fuse are good but i WAs wondering if this is something that can just be switched off and on or what?

Any help is appreciated

Ryan
