Alpina, the German superbimmer builder, have an aftermarket kit for the replacement of the already powerful Nurburgring brakes. It's also the floating system (as in Formula-1). Disks are hardened steel, as with a motorbike, and brake pads are 750i Brembo items. (unless you want to buy them via Alpina, which makes them four times more expensive) Four-piston calipers make for very, very impressive braking. Will fit in 17" rims, if only just. With my car, it's virtually impossible to get the ABS to kick in on a dry road, and the deceleration is almost sickening. It seems to me that the area just before wheel lock is greatly extended, giving you much more precision in your braking. Expensive though. Disks are around $400 each, calipers circa $850 each.
