I actually did look there. But I don't feel it was comprehensive enough. It didn't even mention anything about the "rear self leveling" suspension problems under the things to look for. Makes me rather hesitant don't you think?

Hi folks,
I'm interested in purchasing a '91 E34M5. I have my eye on one right now. Is there anything in particular I should be looking out for on this car? I know about the rear self leveling suspension issues. (this car has the self-leveling in it still -- but owner says no problems/leaks). If I was to do away with the self-leveling setup, it's basically 4bilstein and 4 springs right? Nothing crazy to do right?

Also, the owner says that he replaces "throw out bearings" every 10k. I would imagine that it would be quite labor intensive to replace, so i'm thinking the owner isn't 100% sure what the proper name of the part is.

What should I look out for? The car has 100k on it. What's a fair price for car in this condition in california?

TIA!

-kelvin

PS: I owned a E30M3 before, but I sold it. I wanted something with 4 doors (ie, 528/540), but this M5 seems like a "catch"! :D

HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO POST THIS LINK? Yes, I am shouting.
