It's looking like a tranny replacement/rebuild is in my near future. I am told a BMW factory reman unit is $4200. I recall seeing posts about Jim Blanton, who is one of the few who will rebuild an M5 tranny.

Can someone who has a Blanton rebuild in their M5 let me know how pleased they are with his work? How about logevity? Does anyone know how his rebuilds hold up over time? It seems like I remember that his rebuilds cost around $2300 if no gears have to be replaced.
