If I had to go to the stealer, I might as well go to Wide World, at least they're professional, and give you a new 5-series loaner regardless if you drive a 15 yr old piece of crap 318i in for servicing or a new 745i..
Considering he's in an affluent neighborhood with many people around the area driving BMW's and few independent foreign shops around there, he does not seem to generate a lot of business the 3-4 times I been there.. and the only time I seen a highline car was a clean E28 M5 once, perhaps belonging to the gentleman who thinks he's fantastic.. NOT !!
I had my car worked on by Graham last year
and will not go back to him. No attention to details in getting car fixed (e.g left grease marks up on the A pillar liner while changing inspection sticker, mounted weights on the outside of my rims, did not detect a oil pan leak when changing oil, etc). PLUS he is expensive, might as well go to the stealer
My 2 cents
Kenny and Sal -- I'm sorry that you've had that experience with Graham. But I have to tell you that he's worked on my cars for 20 years. And the immaculate E28 may very well have been mine, but there was another one there today, and I know of at least 5 that he services. the only aftermarket equipment Graham has installed on any of my cars has been from manufacturers like Dinan, Racing Dynamics, Billstein and Schnitzer. The first car I took to Graham was a Bavaria with a blown head gasket. His repair and subsequent tune was extraordinary. Before he opened Bimmers Only, Graham was the Service Manager at Competition Motors. I have seen him do perceptive diagnosis on complex problems. I have yet to have a problem that he has been unable to solve. As far as how busy the place is, it runs on appointments, and he keeps to the schedule. I've run into a lot of high end cars there, including a lot of Ms, and spoken to the owners. They all have been coming back for many years. Some of them come from great distances. (One of the guys there today lives way out on Long Island. That's a long drive.) The grease marks, etc are very different from my experience.
